Caring for your leather dog collar

Keeping your Petiquette leather dog collar in the best condition is easy if you follow a few simple steps.  We use only the finest leathers to make our handmade dog collars and are sure that if you care for your new leather dog collar it will continue to look as goood as the day you receive it.

To keep your leather dog collar at its best we recommend the following:

  • Cleaning with a soft cloth and some good quality leather balsam once in a while.
  • If the collar becomes muddy, then clean with a damp soft cloth and allow to dry naturally, away from direct heat.
  • After cleaning, wipe any Swarovski Crystallized elements with a clean dry cloth.
  • Remove the collar if your dog is playing rough, swimming or scratching excessively.
  • If your dog does in the sea while wearing its collar, then we'd always recommend give it a wipe with a damp cloth afterwards, as salt water and leather are not the best of friends.

Our guarantee to you

We're extremely proud of the workmanship put into each and every Petiquette leather dog collar and as such offer a one year guarantee on all of our handmade leather collars should you need it.  Of course, we're very confident that you won't need it, but if something should break then we'll repair or replace your collar free of charge.

That being said, there are some limitations.  If the damage to the collar has been caused by being chewed or scratched to bits or from, we're not able to fix that, and as we cannot anticipate the wear a collar will be put through, the guarantee does not extend to the loss or scratching to the surface of any Swarovski crystals, but any repair resulting from a hardware failure will be taken care of.

Petiquette leather collars are designed to be durable, but that being said they should not be used in unsuitable situations.  Care should be taken with larger dogs or those that are excessive pullers, biters or scratchers as it may cause damage to the collar.
